What is a Collaborator Request Code?

Shopify allows partners—like developers, designers, and agencies—to request access to your store via Shopify Partner accounts. To prevent spam and ensure security, some stores require a 4-digit Collaborator Code to approve these requests. This feature gives you full control over who can access your store and what permissions they have, without compromising your login details.

 When Do You Need a Collaborator Code?

You only need to provide this code if:

• You enabled "Only people with a collaborator request code can request access" in your store settings.
• A Shopify expert or partner (like Byteex) is requesting store access.

How to Find Your Shopify Collaborator Request Code

Here’s a simple walkthrough:

Step 1: Log in to Your Shopify Admin

Go to: https://www.shopify.com/login

Step 2: Go to Settings

In your admin dashboard, click “Settings” in the bottom left corner.

Step 3: Click “Users and Permissions”

From the left menu, select Users and permissions.

Step 4: Scroll to the Collaborators Section

Find the Collaborators section at the bottom of the page.If you’ve enabled restricted collaborator access, your 4-digit code will be displayed here.

Note: If no code is showing, you haven’t enabled restricted access—partners can request access using only your Shopify store URL.

How to Share It With a Shopify Partner

Send your store URL (e.g., yourstorename.myshopify.com) and the 4-digit Collaborator Code directly to the expert or agency helping you.
